Sale Eames Compact Sofa Mid Century Modern 1950s by judygovintage

Sale Eames Compact Sofa. Mid Century Modern. 1950s Herman Miller White Couch. Uber stylish chrome and high grade Naugahyde create extremely simple lines for minimalist decor. Called a compact sofa, the name was in reference to scaled down design though it sits 3. Originally designed for their own home by Charles and Ray Eames, it’s design life evolved from a built in to a freestanding shape for Herman Miller. A black enameled steel frame and chrome-plated tubular steel legs provide the foundation and maintain the sleek look. As seen in our favorite television show of that era, this couch shouts MOD.

The sofa/couch is excellent vintage condition but there are some condition issues to note.
There is some staining by half of middle cushion close to where it meets top cushion. These look more like splotches than drips. The chrome could be cleaned or sanded down to remove imperfections. There is a tiny tear in the naugahyde that has not been photographed yet.- by the edge…I had two couches, now just the one – the other was taken straight to the upholstery shop and covered with a commercial grade material.
