This vintage display shelf is a charming plate shelf, shadow box from the 1940s-1950’s. There are thin grooves that run the length of the shelf in which to place plates but one could place any tiny collection to display. There is also a slot in which to place a backboard, it may have originally held a mirror backboard. Lovely details on top and bottom. The exterior of the shelf was notched as if to mimic bamboo and wood could be restored or be painted.
